Addicted
Squeeze my eyes closed
Trying to fight withdrawals
The taste of your last kiss
Faded into infinity
It's like taking a needle filled
With heroin and injecting
It into my veins
To see you
My heart skips a beat
My smile lights my eyes
Like someone lighting
A crack pipe
Your words cut me and I bleed
Out painful emotion
You smile and lie to my face
Like the addict, I pretend all is well
I slowly fill up the needle
Your kiss soothes me
Your touch loves me
I am so high off of you
Then you say, it's over
I come crashing down to reality
Traumatized from the loss of my drug
I need a fix
Don't think I can over come this
You have me heart and soul
There is no rehab for
Broken hearts
The taste of your skin
Is addicting like hard liquor
I drink and drink until
I fall unconscious
Wake up not knowing
Where I am or what I've done
Confused and wrecked
I lost myself when I lost you
You're are like a mix of
Crack, heroin, meth
Rotting out my teeth
Leaving nothing but my bones
My body needs you like oxygen
I'm so addicted to you
Can't stop kissing you
Can't stop loving you
You hold me hostage
I wish I never met you
Instead I have to have you
To live

I must congratulate and thank you Johnna for being such a beautiful open but raw soul, so unafraid of saying what is what. I must admit I read this amazed at how precise you capture the essence of your emotions, your hurts, your betrayals and sadness, every scenario that you've let us in on. I am also amazed that you managed to conjure a seething jealousy in me as I read, a feat few have ever been able to do to me. I'll admit my personal failing there, but of course I really felt as I read, for I've been there too ~ the tears as I read with you through your journey overpowered my petty jealousy more than a few times. I'll be getting my first book of poetry published soon too you see, and our journeys through life have been quite remarkably similar, although we've gone in quite different directions, I crumbled and fell whilst you rose up like a Pheonix from the ashes. Your poetry is everything in essence that I had wished to have written myself, your style is superior in that your honesty about things are not just hinted at. Honesty such as yours is rare, strong & cutting. The fire! If any body should read this I would hope they take away from it the courage you have found in yourself, I'm so sure that they will certainly think twice, thrice even. This sort of freedom is the magic that made anybody we admire in history great. I'm yet to find it, but having read this I would hope to be a bit stronger in myself now... Your unusual writing style is so different and firey, it made me very envious! If only I could match up! I look forward to your next book, please, write it soon! The photo on the front is fitting to the reflection of the fire in your soul & the deep body of water that you are.. Mighty like the sea, the greatest force we know. Dammit woman, why couldn't I have written my poetry so well?!Please buy this book as you will love it.
